Heroic Paths: Choose a Heroic Path to gain your first ability and starting equipment. Instead of picking a class, your character's identity is defined by their attributes and skills. As you progress, you gain Heroic Path Points, which you can spend on new abilities from different "Feat Trees" or Heroic Paths. Your total Heroic Path Points are equal to your number of Hit Dice.  Journeyman Paths: These are foundational abilities (cost 1 Path Point) available to all characters.  Expert Paths: These abilities (cost 2 Path Points) are more specialized and build upon Journeyman abilities.  Master Paths: These are the most powerful and unique abilities (cost 3 Path Points).
