Affliction Points (AP): AP is a measure of the psychological strain and trauma a character has endured. Unlike XP, which is gained through personal triumph or failure, AP is a collective burden. Each time a party member chooses to activate a Law token in the Fate Pool, every Player Character gains one AP. Like XP, when your AP total equals your maximum HP, you reset your AP to zero and gain a new Hit Die (HD). However, there’s a difference about this new Hit Die. You are obliged to spend this Path Point on the anti-heroic Path of Affliction.
