You are not superheroes who transcend their mortal form; you are competent adventurers who get better at what they do. Experience Points (XP) represent the skills you hone and the lessons you learn through triumphs and failures. You gain XP by rolling a Fortune (a natural 1) or a Folly (a natural 20) on the d20. When your XP total equals your maximum HP, you reset your XP to zero and gain a new Hit Die (HD).

  • When you gain a Hit Die:
  • Roll a d10 and add the result to your maximum HP.
    • OR - If you are a spellcaster, and wish to, roll that d10 and add it to your Mana maximum.
  • You gain a new Hit Die (d10) to use for a Second Wind.
  • If you can cast spells, you learn one new spell.
  • You gain one Path Point to spend on a Heroic Path or a skill improvement.
  • Saving up your Path Points enables you to purchase more Expert level (2 PP) or Master level (3 PP) upgrades.
